Sr. Research Specialist – Food Chemistry

  • Job Responsibilities
    Manage the Food Chemistry laboratory and By-Products Lab at the FAPC.  These duties include:
    • Manage and maintain Good Laboratory Practices.
    • Manage ordering, inventory and use of all supplies.
    • Manage general housekeeping, hazard safety training and record-keeping.
    • Manage up-keep, service, training of all instruments and standard operating procedures.
    • Manage and conduct food and beverage chemistry and by-product research in support of research projects.
    • Manage and develop methods for specific food, beverage chemistry and by-product research projects.
    • Prepare results of laboratory analysis with results assessments and conclusions for the FAPC faculty member in food chemistry.
    • Manage and conduct food and beverage chemistry and by-product compositional analysis in support of research programs and in support of FAPC client needs.
    • Prepare results with conclusions of food, beverage and by-product chemical compositional analysis in support of research by the FAPC food chemist and in support of FAPC clients.

  • Requirements:
    B.S. Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or closely related field and 1 year experience in a working laboratory. 
      • Preferred: M.S. degree & three years experience.

  • Salary:
    Commensurate with experience.
